Style Watch: Mariah Carey Scintillates in David Yurman Earrings at 2015 Billboard Music Awards
OK, so the consensus seems to be that the award show itself was a bona fide hot mess. Performances were poorly shot and the event painfully MC'd. But speaking of MCs, another MC--Mariah Carey--was there, and at 46, the bombshell still slays the red carpet. In a Tom Ford dress and David Yurman high-jewelry earrings, Carey owned her timeless beauty.

Not Just for Justin Timberlake Anymore: Yurman Releases Lightning Men's Pieces to Public
Did you know David Yurman outfitted Justin Timberlake in all those haut accessories he donned on his 20/20 Experience World Tour last year? It's true, and I now enter this now-forty-three-week-old Instagram post as evidence:
Stay tuned for details on this collection--I'll have them as they emerge--but for now, take a gander at these two beauts presently being advertised on DavidYurman.com.

Whoever snapped this clearly needs a lesson in visual staging. |
The good news is, a mere ten months later, modified versions of the pieces designed exclusively for JT are now available to the public. Already in boutiques and slowly coming online are lightning bolt pieces from what appears to be a newly-christened Symbols Collection.

Oscars 2014 Jewelry Roundup: The Stars Step out in Designer but Snub Yurman
So the glitterati stepped out on Sunday in baubles captivating and beguiling, but this Yurman fanatic was disappointed by what proved nothing less than a glaring absence of visible Yurman. While some male celebrities (most notably, Leonardo DiCaprio and Will Smith) donned subtle DY finishings like shirt and ear studs, no statement Yurman pieces were on display on any celeb, man or woman. (OK, so two-bit Alexandra Daddario wore pave black-diamond earrings to the Vanity Fair after party, and the relative nobody Paula Patton wore some studs. Neither is worth mentioning.)
So whom did the A-listers step out wearing? Here's a rundown of the looks and designers featured:

The Bigger Shame: Britney Spears's New Album Is Horrible or the Fact She's Wearing David Yurman in Promoting Said?
![]() |
Check out my glorious jewelry. Pay no attention to my criminally-bad music. |
So Britney Spears's new album Britney Jean, which critics have nigh universally panned, dropped on December 3. My question to you, dear reader, is this:
What's the bigger shame: that this album is a mess of filler and overproduced dreck or the fact that Brit Brit is donning DY in the promotion of said mess? At the end of the proverbial day, what is, to you, worse: the production of bad music or the cheapening of a stately luxury brand?

Five Questions about the Lance Bass Ring-with-a-Ding Hubbub
So in case you haven't been keeping up with your Lance Bass news (I only sort of fault you for this), the former popstar is now engaged to his boyfriend of almost two years, Michael Turchin. Evidently Turchin said yes on Sunday, September 1, as that is the date on which Bass posted this Instagram:
Two days later, @DavidYurman posted this (see below) on Twitter:
You see, a source told People Magazine Bass "went to three stores and couldn't find anything [ring-wise]" until, at Saks Fifth Avenue, "[h]e saw a David Yurman ring, and he knew that was the one...." Well, of course, @DavidYurman had to reach out publicly once this (soft) news broke.
Only the story doesn't end there. Yesterday afternoon, Bass responded to @DavidYurman's tweet with the following:

Donning David Yurman: Madonna, Adam Lambert, and Keifer Thompson
Hot days call for haute jewelry, evidently, as recently Madonna, Adam Lambert, and Keifer Thompson (of Thompson Square fame) have all donned David Yurman. Check out their looks in the pics below; the caption for each provides additional details and, if available, product purchase information.
Tell me: Who, in your opinion, rocked DY the hardest? Sound off by posting a comment or shooting me an E-mail.

Brit in a Bit of David Yurman

I don't know how I feel about this B Spears look. Excepting the DY wristwear, I have to say I find it, well, a bit unremarkable. What's your take? Sound off; post a comment or write me an E-mail.

Chris Pine Flashes David Yurman Ironwood at Premiere in Germany
Evidently Mr. Pine is on Team DY; yesterday he donned an 18K gold Ironwood Collection pinky ring at the premiere of Star Trek Into Darkness in Berlin (see left). The piece appears the gold counterpart of the available-online sterling silver Ironwood Oval Ring, which retails for $425. While I've, in the past, never been particularly fond of the Ironwood Collection, I must say I'm beginning to change my position on the line. I think its distinctiveness is growing on me... that, and I value the opinion of blog reader Marmar, who contends the pieces patina nicely. That's important with silver jewelry; a wearer wants it to age well... or at least this wearer wants it to age well.
So there you have it--my take. Now what's yours? Tell me: What are your thoughts on the Ironwood Collection, pinky rings, or--heck, why not?--Chris Pine? Sound off. Post a comment or shoot me an E-mail.

A New Yurmanagram
@DavidYurman posted this gem (no sarcasm if you enjoy MacFarlane, dripping with if you don't) to Instagram yesterday.
What are your thoughts regarding Yurman's formal acknowledgement of the host having worn DY? Is MacFarlane someone you want to associate with DY? Is he not? Perhaps you care not. Whatever your view, share it with us.
One's opinions about MacFarlane notwithstanding, it is hard to argue he looked anything but dapper on Sunday.
