Back in January, Whitewall Magazine did a little piece on what is new and coming from David Yurman. (Yeah, I didn't catch it either.) Well, evidently, what was quietly teased then is now enjoying an equally quiet roll out--that is, for now, anyway. Here is what's up:
There is a new David Yurman Frontier Collection for men.
Details are scarce at this time, but inspiration sources appear to include cowboys and indigenous peoples, to say nothing of regional flora and fauna. Here's an anything-but-revelatory blurb on the collection, which surfaced on DavidYurman.com late this afternoon:
Evan Yurman combines his father's love for horses with his own interest in cultural design cues to create the Frontier Collection. These designs pay homage to the motifs of America's great Southwest, with inlays hand-crafted in New Mexico by local artisans.
My prediction is that this is going to be big, and by that I mean one should probably expect a full and aggressive marketing campaign coupled with a tantalizing array of launch pieces. Available since mid-afternoon today on DavidYurman.com are an eye-catching Eagle Talon Amulet ($2900) and a sleek Wide Cuff ($995). Of course, more can and should be expected in the upcoming days and/or weeks, once the promotion of anniversary-edition cable is through.
Watch this space; I'm certain to have more soon. (And I'm going to try to find out to what extent precisely the pieces will be hand-produced in New Mexico--that is, if there will be full manufacturing in America or just inlay securing.) For now, here are images of now-available talon amulet and cuff bracelet:

UPDATE (Tuesday, March 11, 2014): The Eagle Talon Amulet pictured and mentioned above has been pulled from DavidYurman.com and is, at present, not available for viewing or purchase. I have an inkling that it was, at $2800, mis-priced. Stay tuned for more.
UPDATE (Wednesday, March 12, 2014): Additional product (see below) has surfaced on DavidYurman.com, although the listings are buggy and only sporadically fully load. It bears noting that all of the pendants are sold separately from the box chains on which they are pictured. (This appears a new standard practice for DY. Snatch up those remaining pieces bundled with chains while you can!)

UPDATE (Friday, March 14, 2014): Authorized DY retailer Saks Fifth Avenue made available today in its online store this streamline Frontier Collection band ring, which, like nigh all other presently-released pieces, boasts a motif of triangular geometry:
